Pope Francis __ Vincent Lee (65)

 Pope Francis(Vincent P. Lee, '65)

I am, and I believe many are, deeply touched and moved by the Pope's actions as illustrated in these photos/stories. To the public, I called it the teachings or "effects" of "Jesuit education". To us, you know and I know, we call it the "Wah Yan Spirit" - simply taking it after our beloved mentors.

I love this Pope.

Am I biased (?), or am I merely seeing him as a dedicated loving Jesuit priest, like the many we are (were) so familiar with during our days at the Wah Yans?

A message I wish to share with all who had benefited from a few years of "Jesuit education", the effects of which yet would last a life time.

The older I get, the more of the (poor side of the) world I see, the deeper I appreciate the effects of our "Jesuit education".  Tear drops were in my eyes when I got to the last photo of the little boy tightly embracing his Holiness on stage.......

The first question that popped into my head was: "Why would the officials try to remove the boy?"

But then a "deeper" question followed: "Why would this Pope allow the little boy to stay? - interfering with his speech and with the orderliness of the solemn occasion........?"

To many, the answer to the second question could be: "Because he is the Pope....".

My answer is far simpler and less grandiose: "Because he is a loving Jesuit priest, like the many we knew so well in the days of our youth........"
