Sick in St. Paul's Hospital in Causeway Bay on Hong Kong Island, Fr. Deignan celebrated the Feast of St. Ignatius Loyola and the 59th Anniversary of his priestly ordination on 31st July 2018. A Skype video link was set up to let Fr. Deignan watch the celebration Mass held in the chapel of Wah Yan College in Kowloon and to let him interact with those who attended the dinner that followed.
