WYKAAO at 30

The signature event for celebrating our association's 30th anniversary, Gala Dinner & Dance, was successfully held on Saturday October 19th at Sheraton Parkway Toronto North hotel. Over 180 alumni, their family members, former teachers and guests attended. The evening was packed with fun-filled programmes, guests' performances and dancing to 1 am. Click here to see the pictures (special thanks to our joint-school friend Andrew Kwong and other guests/alumni for providing the pictures).

You have had a great gala. We enjoy everything - the food, the dance, the band and the people. We met a lot of familiar faces that we feel we are part of the whole family.

Thanks for inviting me and my wife to your well organized party. I did meet a number of my former students. We had a wonderful time.

On behalf of Blue Star band,  I have to give you my deepest appreciation for you to get us playing for your Wah Yan event. Without your introduction of us to your Alumni executives, we won't have the chance to meet and make friends with so many of the nice people there last night.

~ Rick Mak (Blue Star Band)

Me too! Thank you so much for the opportunity to have Blue Star perform. I’m glad to meet some of the executives of your Wah Yan group. Your on-going support & feedbacks also contributed in many aspects. It’s always encouraging to hear great comments and I’m sure everyone will take it to the heart. Everyone of band members play for the love of music, I’m glad I can find more time to listen to more music and learn new songs now that I’m retired.

~ Louis Tsai (Blue Star Band)

Thanks for the compliments. Indeed, the success of the evening is also being contributed by the members of your organizing team who has programmed it, taking into consideration of the time frame for each particular event, such as allocating the time for each program which has created a fraternal feelings for all those who were present last night, albeit a little later than the time frame that had been anticipated in the program. Please convey my congratulations to the organizing team.

~ John Heterland (Blue Star Band)

I would like to thank you, all the directors, and the many spouses and friends who organized and helped out at our 30th anniversary gala last night. It was an amazingly successful event.  The time and effort spent by all of you are very much appreciated.

Thank you all very much.

~ Gus Yeung ('66)
