Tonight the 15 of us (see names below) are very happy to host a dinner in honor of Andrew Cheung Po Kay and Kenneth Ma Kai Fai. We had a lot of pleasant chats and consumed I don’t know how many bottles of red wine and whisky by kind courtesy of Albert lam (am I right, as I didn’t drink?). It was a wonderful evening.
It is worth mentioning that John Chan Doming, altho a vegetarian, joined us for a non-vegetarian dinner. Quite a sacrifice on his part (He paid the same amount!). Also Dr Tse Tak Fu cut short his hospital calls and joined the dinner on time. A great show up.
We took some photos and made a video for Mr Ho to wish him a speedy recovery.
In the gathering, we resolved:
1) The WYCK61 55 years reunion to be held in Hong Kong has been rescheduled to Nov 4-6, 2016 (Fri-Sun) to ensure the event will take place in the best season in Hong Kong. We would very much appreciate your early indication of interest to participate (or otherwise) at this time (or your earliest possible time) to enable our planning and facilitation. Needless to say, your indication is a great help to us and is by no means binding. We may collect a deposit towards the first quarter of next year when things begin to take shape. You are all very much urged/encouraged to join as we are all in our early 70’s now and such gatherings may not repeat many times.
2) In response to the call for support to install a new elevator for the Fathers, it was agreed that each of us are encouraged to donate HK$500 or more (or equivalent in other currencies) on a voluntary basis. The money will be collected together and presented to Wah Yan under the name of the Class of 1961. You can choose to have your name and amount made known or remain anonymous. Please make cheque or other means (such as money order etc) payable to “Nicky Cheung Chi Keung”, our de facto Hon. Treasurer, before the end of November 2015. Please see the attached appeal letter from the WYCK Principal Mr Warren Chung.
3) Our next dinner gathering has been scheduled on Nov 16, 2015, Monday again at the Sports Club, in honor of Peter 潘漢偉 who will be in HK then. Do make an effort to join if you can.
