Day 1 – Conference & Gala Dinner
The much anticipated reunion for the class of ’64 opened its curtain on October 1, 2012. Classmates from Hong Kong, the States and various provinces of Canada assembled in Toronto. We kicked off day 1 with the usual conference to determine on what we should do for the next one in 2014. Since it will be our 50th anniversary, decision on the venue was reached quickly -- Hong Kong. There would be a cruise program either from Hong Kong to Singapore or Hong Kong to Xiamen (厦門). Other activities were also discussed followed by lunch with spouses.
Our Gala Dinner was held at La Rosa (天寶閣) at 7 p.m. We had 51 people in all including an honourable guest - our beloved Ho sir. We mingled and laughed and for sure, putting that many 64ers together in one room, you could be sure of a riot, a riot of fun and joy.
In memory of Gregory Chow (周仁傑), a video was made using some photos of his and was presented at the Gala dinner. To watch the video, click here.

Day 2 – Niagara Tour
We first visited a winery (Angels Gate) on our way to the Falls for a wine tour, tasting and lunch. The weather forecast for the day was not good but by the time we got to the winery, the sky brightened up and remained so for the rest of the day. At the winery we were first treated with a glass of sparkling wine and were taken to the field to see the many bundles of grapes ready for harvest. The wine production process was explained and of course many of us were not first time visitors and heard it all before. We were told that 2012 would be a great year for wine. Chef Sherry prepared a great platter lunch for us. There were a lot of varieties and food seemed to have kept coming. Good food and good company, what else could we ask for? We finished our lunch with triple chocolate cheese cake and a glass of Riesling ice wine. We departed for the Falls with a happy stomach.
No matter how many times we visited the Falls, Horse Shoe Fall never failed to amaze us. We shot a lot of photos on each other with the Fall in the background. We also chatted nonstop as we had so much to update each other. After the Falls, we visited Niagara-on-the-Lake where we had ice cream from COW, the famous ice cream from the Atlantic province.
There were 44 people on the tour in five vans and three cars. Despite the many vehicles involved we connected all the time at every stop. Nobody got lost. It was around 7 p.m. when we arrived at our restaurant for the night ready to take on a special meal 私房菜 prepared for us by Fantaxia (樂逍遙).

Day 3 - Fall Colours Tour
Two separate programs were organised for the day. We had a three day Quebec tour and a one day fall colours tour. For the fall colours tour, there were 14 participants. We drove in two vans to Muskoka. We first stopped at Gravenhurst to visit Dr. Bethune Memorial House. Dr. Bethune was and still is well known in China. During the war against the Japanese invaders Dr. Bethune stayed in China and helped to take care of our wounded soldiers. He died in China.
For lunch, we picked Deerhurst Resort where we had a great view of the fall colours but the peak of the show was in Dorset on top of the hill. Despite the cloudy sky, we enjoyed a panoramic view of the many colours. The show continued on our way home when a well prepared dinner was waiting at Milliken Restaurant (金鍾閣) to welcome us.
