2014-11-16 Updates (from Sam Yu, Chairman of WYKPSA)
Our Anniversaries Gratitude Dinner will be held in less than 3 weeks. However, we have less than 30 tables reserved so far. No doubt, it is quite disappointing as the Gratitude Dinner is meant to (1) celebrate our Alma Mater’s 90th Birthday and (2) raise funding for WYOFF to sustain its small class teaching and students & staff continuous development.
The lesser participants enrolled into the Gratitude Dinner, the lesser money will be raised and accordingly, it will cause a lot of inconvenience and difficulties for implementing small class teaching effectively and smoothly. Further, it will be very hard for WYOFF to provide job security for our existing teachers who are on contract basis.
As a result, I would like to appeal you to enroll into the Gratitude Dinner as soon as possible and by taking this opportunity, to get reunion with your old time classmates and even, with your Fathers and teachers who have taught us to be a whole person. WYK has given us valuable education and now, it is our turn to pay back. For example, you can organize tables for your classes rather than individuals so that more school/class mates will be met to catch up for the old goodies!
In conclusion, please kindly feel free to complete the attached enrollment form in due course and further, I would like to see you also support by making donation as well as putting a “compliment” into our Pamphlet for the night.

I would like to inform all of you that 2014/2015 is the 90/95 Anniversary of the Kowloon Wah Yan and Hong Kong Wah Yan. From September 2014 up to August 2015, there are series of events for celebrating this Anniversary. The Jesuit Education Forum is one of the events to be held in April 2015.
Please find the tentative rundown and draft bios of the three Keynote Speakers. Note that they are subject to change. We shall also be inviting another 7 speakers to have sharing in the breakout sessions. Such speakers would probably be prominent local personalities with close links with WYHK or WYK, such as WY past students.
The Wah Yan College Kowloon 90-Anniversary and Wah Yan College, Hong Kong 95-Anniversary celebration will be starting soon in September, 2014. There will be a series of events during September 2014 to July 2015 including:
- October 26, 2014 - Walkathon from the new School Hall of WYHK to the new grass football pitch of WYK starting from 8:00 am
- A grand Dinner to be held in WYK on December 06, 2014 evening at 6:30 pm
- A Jesuit Fathers Educational Forum in April, 2015
- A Concert in July 2015
Please mark the above important dates in your calendar and all overseas Wahyanites are welcome to come back to Hong Kong for all those events.

November 2, 2014 being All Souls Day, we remember our Fathers, teachers, past students and friends of WYK who have gone before us. Sharing stories of their lives, we cherish the goodness of their human journey. We invite our readers to visit this link.

My Dear Wahyanites,
In times of uncertainty and controversy, what we need is calmness and wisdom, not violence. Democracy without loving respect would amount to crudeness and leadership void of the spirit of service would amount to authoritarianism. Neither crude democracy nor authoritarianism can bring joy and peace to our community.
