About WYK
"On Sunday, Feb. 6, at about 11 a.m., Fr. Frank Doyle was taken from the Arrupe International Residence (Manila, Philippines) to the hospital. Scan revealed a blood clot in his head. Frank is still in the ICU, Medical City, Manila. He is paralyzed on one side and speaks with difficulty though he can recognize people." - Fr. Stephen Chow
Friday, Feb 11, 16:40 message from Jerome who visited Fr. Doyle: "According to the doctors, Fr. Frank's condition is deteriorating. The blood clot in his brain remains and pressure is building up. The edema (fluid leakage due to the pressure) in his brain has increased considerably. Fr. Frank is now intubated as a precautionary measure. The doctors said that if his condition does not improve, they might have to remove part of his skull to lessen the pressure in his brain."

On the feast day of the Irish patron saint, let us take time to remember all the Irish Fathers of Wah Yan for without them there won't be us today. Happy St. Patrick's Day to all!
Father Naylor has been teaching at WYK since 1967. To understand why he loves to stay at 56 Waterloo Road all these years, visit his web site. We look forward to learning his interpretation of our history and the Jesuit education on the occasion of the Wah Yan anniversaries.
Stay tuned.
Mr. Tam writes from Hong Kong, (2011_09_04)
"I was invited to dinner with Fr Deignan last Friday evening. (See attached photo) At the table, sitting next to Fr Deignan was Prof Dominic Lam, President of World Eye Organization, next to me was Mr Edwin Wong, Managing Partner & CEO of SSG Capital Management (HK) Ltd, and on extreme right was Miss Janice Cooper, artist and art promoter. We were all very glad to see that Fr Deignan was fully recovered and in very good spirit. We had a lovely time together.
From One Family 2012 Marathon Organising Committee, "Time flies and we are about to set out to take part in the 2012 Standard Chartered Marathon! This is the 5th year we are running, so please Gimus Five!
Our sports teams had a very fruitful 2011 in which many of you helped form a 288-runner Marathon Team, the biggest ever in the history of Wah Yan, and raised $1 million. 4 young members were among the top 10 runners in the 10Km Run 3, out of 6,000 people. The ritual of sportsmanship has indeed driven the whole Wah Yan Community to new heights.
