Wah Yan International Conferences
If there is enough interest from our members who plan to attend the conference, we may organize to charter a tour bus to travel to the event venue (round trip). This will be a shared operation with Wah Yan College (Hong Kong) Ontario Alumni Association. We need firmed commitments before further planning can take place. Please let us know if you are interested in this initiative (bus tour) before April 13th by

(March 3, 2012) Invitation to Wah Yan International Conference 2012 (August 3, 4,5) in New York City from Peter Lau - Cochairman of IC-2012
On Friday, August 20, 2010, our flight to LA was delayed for more than 2 hours. Gus was waiting to take Peter/Lana Wong and Ms Chan to San Gabriel Hilton where the Conference was held. David Ng Tai-wai (WYK 63), who was in my Form 1D class in 1959, was also at the airport to give me a ride. We met only once in Hong Kong after his graduation and he could not attend the conference. He wanted to make use of the long drive to update me on his career path. On the way, he drove me around the huge plant of Northrop Grumman Co. near the airport where he worked. At the hotel, David had to say good-bye because Patrick Young (WYK 60) from Singapore had been waiting to take me to dinner where Philip Lee (WYK 60) and the Cheetahs had been waiting.
Thanks to Gus Yeung (66), we can share a few video clips taken during the Wah Yan International Conference 2010 (August 20-22) in Los Angeles. There are a few clips on the registration/reception before the Gala Dinner. We can also see the performance by Philip Lee (60) and our very own director Sonny Sie (60). Click the picture to enjoy!
A welcome dinner for Philip Lee and the Cheetahs was held on Friday, August 13.
There is a report from 世界日报.

Mr. Francis Kong could not resist anymore. After listening to Mr. Wong Chin-wah singing Toselli's Seranade in Cantonese, and Mr. Wilson Hsueh's "One Day When We were Young”, he demanded equal time and sang a Japanese song. Fr. Joseph Foley sat there bemused and expectant. I later found out from Mr. Anthony Ho that Father was waiting for someone to ask him to sing the theme song of “Foon Lok Kam Siu”, the popular TVB evening program that topped the charts throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s.
To our eternal regret, no one did. The venue was the farewell dinner on board the Queen Mary in Long Beach. The event was the Wah Yan International Conference. The time was August, 2000. Fr. Foley passed away in Galway, Ireland in September, 2006, preceded by the death of Mr. Francis Kong in Hong Kong the previous December, and followed by that of Mr. Hsueh in Toronto in August, 2008.
We will be hosting the Wah Yan International Conference again next month. Much as we want to, we cannot present an encore of Kong, Hsueh, plus a challenge from Fr. Foley. And despite our sponsored invitations, Frs. Anthony Farren, James Smyth and retired teacher Yu Pun Leung are too weak to travel. But others have agreed to attend, including former Vice Principals Raymond Yu and Anthony Ho, and the Septuagenarian Wong Chin Wah himself, who plans to deliver a new composition.

The main event will consist of one full day on (Saturday plus the Sunday morning) of gatherings and speeches by keynote speakers. The dinner on Saturday will be a Gala event with entertainment.
