Joint-School Functions
(Aug 25th) La Salle Old Boys held its annual BBQ picnic at Thomson Park on a beautiful Sunday. Joint-school friends were invited and we have Peter Wong, Bill Fok and Jeff Mah attended with their better half, representing WYKAAO. Sammy Kam-Yin Ng (’68), visiting from Seattle, also joined the big party. Click here to see the pictures.
With months of preparation, the first Inter-School Table Tennis Tournament was held on Aug 10 in Markham. 12 teams from 9 Hong Kong high school alumni associations (see the list here) had entered the whole-day competition. After a number of hard-fought matches in several rounds, our Team A (from left to right in the picture: Mike Yam (74), Michael Luk (76), David Ho (70), Allan Lee (70)) captured the CHAMPIONSHIP of the tournament. Excellent Effort and Congratulations!

Last Saturday, April 06, a number of Wahyanites together with visiting Phillip Lee (60), LG of Manitoba, and his wife Anita attended the successful Fund-raising screening of “Trailblazers in Habits” for the Maryknoll Sisters who celebrate their Centenary foreign mission. The documentary was well received by the 250 attendants.

(April 6th Toronto) Maryknoll Convent School Former Students (Ontario) hosted the screening of ‘Trailblazers in Habits’, a documentary (details here) to commemorate the Maryknoll Sisters’ remarkable contribution to the development of modern Hong Kong, and to chronicle some of their work in Asia, Latin America, Africa and the United States. Over 200, including a number of WYKAAO members, attended the event. Click here to see the pictures.
(March 30th) Members from both Wah Yan (Hong Kong) Ontario Alumni Association and Wah Yan College Kowloon Alumni Association of Ontario attended the celebration dinner of St. Joseph's Anglo-Chinese School’s 55th Anniversary hosted by its alumni association in Ontario at a Markham’s banquet hall. The Hong Kong Joint Schools Alumni Association successfully held its 2nd annual Chinese New Year Celebration Day with bowling, karaoke singing, line dancing and a 17-table dinner banquet.
