Cross-Canada coast to coast   Day 15

June 14, 2014.

Drummondville, QC to Fredericton, NB

I had a really good sleep last night. I was trying to stay up to watch the Stanley Cup final game, but I couldn't after 1 period. Good thing that I didn't, it went into double overtime. LA Kings won the cup.

I set out for another 700 Km of riding. I knew i would be in the rain. You know the story, heavy drenching rain at 13C for the first 3 hours. Then it decreased into occasional drizzles and no rain. I got into Fredericton at 23C with a overcast sky. I think I might have outrun the rain by going south-easterly.

The Transcanada Hwy in New Brunswick is very nice. The scenery was beautiful. We ran along the river and valley, with rolling hills for many kilometers. The grass was tender green, the trees were different shades of green, some very bright young green. I suppose the few days of rain previously had brought out the young shoots.

I had lunch at Tim Hortons at St. Leonard, NB. It was interesting that on my left there was a table of 4 people conversing in French, and the table on my right had 4 people conversing in English. Truly a bilingual country. I love it.

I didn't realize NB is 1 hour ahead of EST. I lost one hour.

I arrived at George/Donna Thompson's house at 5 pm. George is the brother of my friend Evangelyne. They have offered me lodging. I had the hot shower, and airing out my wet clothing to dry. Then we went out for dinner, and a car tour of the city. It was nice.

It depends on the weather. I might stay put for another day if it rains.

The riding in the Maritimes should be shorter and more leisurely.

Tomorrow is Sunday. I have been away from home for 2 weeks already.
