Saturday, March 25th, 2017 at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, 8911 Woodbine Ave. north of Hyw16, Markham. From 9:30-10:30 is the time for viewing and the funeral service starts at 10:30. Rev. Chan Wai Chiu of the Lutheran Tsingchun Church and The Rev. Canon Edmund Der (his former student) of St. James Cathedral, Anglican, will officiate. The burial will be at Highland Memorial Gardens on Don Mills and Steeles immediately following the service, and a fellowship lunch will be held at Mandarin Buffet at Woodbine for all family and friends.
I understand that the Tsang sisters will hold a memorial service for Roy on February 25, 2017. They wish that we Cheetahs will write something about Roy so that they can read out the same at the service. Philip has already written something and perhaps you, being our senior member and mentor, will write on our behalves. Kindly consider. With prayers & best regards,

Please find attached a letter I wrote to your late Dad. The letter is a summary of his younger days in Hong Kong with respect to his primary school education and his secondary school education. What your Dad experienced was unique and given the environment that surrounded him, he came through with flying colors overcoming all the challenges that almost blocked his career path at one time or another. I hope that the letter will provide a glimpse of how your Dad was growing up as an adolescence and how he found his future despite of adversities. We all had friends outside of this group but destiny brought this group so tightly knit that the fraternal relationship among them is better than some blood related siblings.
If the Tsang sisters find the content of this letter may assist them in delivering a Eulogy, please do not hesitate to use any portions of it on the day you chose to celebrate the life of our brother Roy. If you think it is appropriate, you may read it all or some portions of it at the ceremony as well. Attached with the letter is the poster that was included at the Wah Yan International Conference in 2010. In it, you will find some nice photos of your dad and a celebration of our friendship.

Paul Yip passed way on July 21, 2016 peacefully at Mackenzie Health Hospital, Richmond Hill, Ontario after succumbing to his cardiac failure. He was attending evening Mass at Chinese Martyrs' Catholic Church on 19th July. He was survived by his beloved wife Margaret.
Please keep Paul in your prayers.

Wing Kwong Chan 陳永光 ('37), the most senior alumnus on our member list, passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital on Sunday February 28th, 2016, in his 94th year. Visitation will be held on Thursday March 3rd from 5 to 9 pm at Highland Funeral Home in Markham (10 Cachet woods Court).
The funeral service will be held at Highland Funeral Home on Friday March 4th at 9 am to be followed by burial service at Woodland Cemetery in Burlington (700 Spring Garden Road). Click here for more details about the service.

Our dear classmate Patrick Li Sai-cheong 李世昌[Class of '75] passed away on March 4, 2009 in Hong Kong after a brief battle with liver cancer. He is survived by his wife Daphne. After graduation from Wah Yan, Patrick attended Mankato State University, (now part of University of Minnesota) and had lived in Australia for an extended period of time before returning to Hong Kong in the late 1990s.
During his battle with cancer, classmates James Wong and Kipling Chang in Hong Kong had been providing a lot of personal assistance.
Leung Siu-Tat, Carmelo

Passed away peacefully in Hong Kong on Sunday, February 6, 2009, at the age of sixty-four.

Carmelo, an icon of Class of 61, was very supportive of WYKAAO in its early years when he was in Toronto.
Upon hearing the sad news, his classmates from all over the world had the following remarks:
-- a real nice person of integrity and piety
-- a devout Catholic
-- his genuine smiles spoke volume about his inner compassion and interest for people
-- a great personality that is always a pleasure to be around him
-- salute Carmelo for his courage and calmness during his last days
-- we lost a great friend.

With Leung Kon-Woh passing away on November 09, 2009, another link to the days of WYK at Nelson Street is broken. After graduating in the forties, Leung became a teacher at an Anglican school. Retired in Toronto, he reconnected with WYKAAO in the 2007 fall picnic. During his final years at a Long Term Care Centre, he was a polite and friendly gentleman to all the nursing staff and fellow residents. His absence was greatly missed.

Donald Ng R.I.P.
Donald Ng passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 29, 2010.
An active member of Class of 1957, Donald and his wife Maggie had been very supportive of our activities. He had put up a brave fight against cancer for some time and was hospitalized since early this year. A good patient, he was always at ease wiith his visitors. Our sincerest condolences to Maggie and her family.
Francis Ho passed away in Montreal last Thursday, June 9.
Francis was the School Captain in 1957-58, heading a team of Prefects who included Andrew So Kwok Wing, (Rev.) George Zee, John Lee Yiu Kwong, (Dr.) StanislausTang Wing Kuen and other able prefects. Since his arrival in Canada in the sixties, he had settled in Montreal. A member of WYKAAO, he tried to attend our functions and meet with his class of 57 whenever he came to Toronto. His presence was refreshing in any company. His absence would be greatly missed at our gatherings. May he rest in peace.
